What happens on the 20-minute call
A short, practical call with our team, between 9 am and 6 pm UAE time.
- We confirm whether your business is in scope, and which date applies to you.
- We go through your result: your system, your provider and your data gaps.
- We agree the next step. If you want our help, we fix the fee once we know your volumes and systems.
Helpful to have ready: your trade licence, your TRN or TIN if you have one, and the name of the accounting system you use.

UAE e-invoicing in brief
Short answers to the questions UAE business owners ask us most.
Who has to use e-invoicing in the UAE?
E-invoicing applies to business and government transactions whether or not the business is VAT registered, unless an exclusion applies. Sales to individual consumers are not covered. A business can be in scope even if it is not registered for VAT, so VAT registration alone does not decide scope.
What are the UAE e-invoicing deadlines?
Businesses with revenue of AED 50 million or more must appoint an Accredited Service Provider by 30 October 2026 and go live with e-invoicing on 1 January 2027. Businesses with revenue below AED 50 million must appoint one by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 July 2027. Government entities appoint by 31 March 2027 and go live on 1 October 2027.
What is an Accredited Service Provider (ASP)?
An Accredited Service Provider is a provider on the Ministry of Finance's accredited list that sends and receives e-invoices for your business. Every business in scope must appoint one by its deadline. One Accredited Service Provider covers both sending and receiving, so you do not need separate providers for sales and purchases.
Do I need e-invoicing if I am not VAT registered?
Yes, if you sell to other businesses or to government entities and no exclusion applies. E-invoicing applies whether or not the business is VAT registered. If you are not registered with the FTA for any tax, you will need a Tax Identification Number (TIN) from EmaraTax before you onboard with a provider.
Which documents must be sent as e-invoices?
Electronic tax invoices and tax credit notes, commercial invoices (for exempt or out-of-scope supplies, or where the supplier is not VAT registered), electronic credit notes, and self-billed tax invoices and tax credit notes. Provisional invoices must also be issued as e-invoices.
Which activities are excluded from UAE e-invoicing?
The exclusions are sovereign government activities, airline passenger services with e-tickets, air freight with an airway bill (a temporary exclusion for 24 months) and VAT-exempt financial services. Investment holding companies with only passive income are out of scope, but recharges bring them in.
How does e-invoicing work for VAT groups?
Transactions between members of the same VAT (Tax) Group are temporarily excluded from e-invoicing for 24 months from 1 January 2027 (Ministerial Decision No. 197 of 2026). The exclusion covers only transactions within the group. Each member's transactions with businesses outside the group follow the normal dates for its revenue group.
Can Zoho Books handle UAE e-invoicing?
Zoho Software Trading LLC is an Accredited Service Provider for UAE e-invoicing (Ministry of Finance list, accreditation number 121988). BPOAS has been a Zoho Authorised Partner since 2018 and helps businesses set up e-invoicing in Zoho Books.
